Journey for Life

Born and raised in Wayne County, Katie Foxx grew up surrounded by the warmth of her family and the beauty of nature on their family farm. From a young age, Katie was inspired by the entrepreneurial spirit of her grandfather, father, and other family members who started their own farm from scratch. Witnessing their success and the support they provided each other, Katie knew she wanted to have a plan for her own life.
With a passion for both art and math, Katie initially pursued a degree in architecture. However, her desire to help people led her to graduate with a degree in religious studies. Katie explains, “I took a lot of time to try to discern what I wanted to do with my life. There was a particular book I read that helped me come to the idea of ‘Helping people see the possibilities.’ I wanted to help people expand their thinking, help them create a bigger vision and reality in their life. At the time, I couldn’t see a profession in it and I thought to myself, who am I to do that - I’m only 17.” After graduation, she worked in a variety of professions before returning to the farm to raise her family.
Always willing to help the family, Katie helped keep books for the family farm. She had the love and support of her husband Doug, two boys, and parents. Katie loved the flexibility and ability to spend time with her young boys but knew she hadn’t yet found her professional calling. She was struggling mentally and emotionally, leading to a weight gain and a desire to find true all-around healing.
Katie soon realized that she needed a change. Traditional counseling didn’t provide the answers she sought, so she turned to books, research, and podcasts for guidance while diving deeper into her faith. In 2015, a podcast sparked a significant change in her life, leading her on a journey toward healing. By 2017, Katie began to see real transformation, and in 2018, she was introduced to the concept of life coaching through another podcast. Seeing the transformation in her own life, she knew she could help others. Katie remembers her journey to becoming a life coach, “I couldn’t continue as I was, I needed to change - but I didn’t know how. I studied and learned and grew in understanding how our mind and emotions are connected. I was a veracious learner and couldn’t get enough studying. I found the connections and answers I was looking for in life coaching, rooted in faith with actionable steps. It was exactly what I wish I had at the beginning of my journey and what I knew I wanted to do professionally! My story and experience gives me a unique perspective for potential clients. I know where they’re coming from, and I know firsthand how to get where they want to go.”
In 2023, Katie completed a faith-based life coaching certification, and by 2025, she had earned her Master Coach Certification. Katie’s approach to life coaching is holistic, focusing on both looking back to heal and looking forward to achieve goals. She offers one-on-one and group classes, helping people navigate various life transitions, such as empty nest syndrome, new jobs, relationship changes, mental and emotional resiliency, financial and physical health, and more.
Katie’s favorite part of life coaching is helping people see what they can’t to identify what’s holding them back and then expand and step into more than they thought possible for their lives. She believes that everyone can benefit from life coaching. Katie’s certifications are both science and Biblically based, and she has done extensive research in neuro and behavioral science. Life coaching and traditional therapy have distinct focuses and methodologies. Traditional therapy often centers on diagnosing and treating mental health disorders and working through past traumas to help clients achieve a meaningful and fulfilling life. It is typically more backward-focused, aiming to resolve issues from the past. In contrast, life coaching is more forward-focused, helping clients develop clarity around their future goals and aspirations. Life coaches, like Katie Foxx, assist clients in creating a bigger vision for their lives, equipping them with practical tools, strategies, and encouragement to achieve their desired outcomes. While therapy addresses emotional and psychological healing, life coaching emphasizes personal growth, goal-setting, and achieving true life change. Katie works with clients from all faiths and denominations, offering a variety of classes, including journaling, uncovering and living your dreams, weight loss and workplace and church group sessions. She is dedicated to helping her clients live their best lives, just as she has experienced in her own journey.
Katie’s family, including her husband Doug and their two teenage boys, continue to support her as she grows her life coaching practice. Looking ahead, Katie plans to introduce a membership portal to offer even more resources to her clients. Katie Foxx’s story is a testament to the power of perseverance, self-discovery, and the impact of helping others. Her journey from a farm girl to a life coach is truly inspiring, and she continues to make a difference in the lives of those she works with every day.
