In 2003, Triple H Plumbing was born out of both opportunity and a giant leap of faith. Lamar Hochstetler and Travis Hostetler had spent years in the plumbing industry, quietly learning the ropes and imagining what it might look like to do things their own way. Over the course of several months, they laid the groundwork to best prepare for their new adventure. Eventually they took the courageous step to leave their previous jobs—departing on good terms but full of ambition—to start something new. “We saw opportunities to do things our own way and knew how we wanted to run things,” Lamar remembers, “so we took a leap of faith and went out on our own. It was a risk, but one we knew we needed to take.”

Lamar and Travis had their work cut out for them. The early days were anything but easy. Starting from nothing

meant a relentless push to get the business off the ground. Travis recalls, “The first few years required a lot of inventory purchases and hard work but that’s what it took to see it through.” There were moments when the future seemed uncertain, when they wondered if their risk would pay off.

Lamar never doubted the choice they made. “We were overwhelmed by the responsibility, but never questioned the business,” he says, echoing a sentiment familiar to anyone who’s ever chased a dream with everything they

have. Travis remembers: “We had a small crew, and we put in long days. Sometimes I questioned if we were going to make it.”

The 2008 recession brought a storm that threatened to wash away even the most determined of entrepreneurs. Those years tested Triple H Plumbing in ways they never expected. “In 2008 and 2009 business was tough. We took on work we didn’t normally do, but we did what we needed to do to keep the lights on and food on our table. We leaned on crucial partnerships to keep work incoming.” Travis states. They adapted, expanded their scope, and did what it took to weather the economic downturn.

Slowly, their resilience paid off. The business grew, diversifying its offerings and expanding from a single truck to a fleet of six. With every milestone, Travis and Lamar felt the satisfaction of overcoming odds and forging ahead. In 2013, after outgrowing their first building, they moved into their new space—a move that was long overdue and symbolic of the company’s evolution.

But perhaps the most meaningful transformation came as their families began to join the journey. Now, two of Lamar’s sons and one of Travis’s sons have become part of the business. Lamar reflects on this transition with deep gratitude: “God has blessed our families through this business. It’s exciting that my kids want to be a part of what we worked so hard to build.” Travis, too, feels the bittersweet joy of watching his children grow within the company. “Having my kids come along is bittersweet. I love having them around, but it’s hard to see them grow up. I’m glad they’re coming up this way.”

Through all the changes, Triple H Plumbing maintains its commitment to community and service. The team takes pride in handling walk-ins and providing a wide range of plumbing supplies. With a dedicated service call team, Triple H Plumbing handles everything from leaking sinks to radiant heating to new construction. They even offer water testing and conditioning.

For Lamar, the real reward is seeing the company values reflected in their employees. “The most rewarding thing: having engaging employees that care about their job, and care about the customer and the work they do. We get positive comment cards back all the time and seeing our employees care for our

community with the same commitment and passion that we started this company with is the ultimate reward.”

Looking back, Travis and Lamar are grateful for the journey—the challenges, the uncertainty, the victories, and the moments that tested their resolve and strengthened their bond. Triple H Plumbing isn’t just a business; it’s a legacy built on faith, family, and perseverance. As Lamar and Travis continue to nurture their company and their families, they hold onto hope for the future, grateful for the community that has supported them and the blessings that have come from taking a leap of faith all those years ago.
