Van's Auto Service
a: 210 S Buckeye St | Wooster
When it comes to reliable auto service, many in the Wooster community have been counting on the same shop for over a century. In 1912, 300 Tire opened its doors in downtown Wooster. Back then, locals in need of service could dial 300 on any phone and be connected with the shop, thus giving 300 Tire it’s name. As technology advanced and the Wooster community grew, 300 Tire maintained exceptional customer service. The shop changed hands a few times as each owner was ready to retire or pursue other ventures, eventually leaving 300 Tire in the capable hands of Kevin Covert.
300 Tire has been serving the Wooster Community Since 1912.
When Kevin took over the business, he kept his focus on serving his friends and neighbors. He expanded services and brought in Lisa Bihari to manage the shop, trusting her to see that every customer would be cared for just as they had since 1912. For Lisa, managing 300 Tire was more than a job. She took great pride in building relationships with customers and creating a family-like culture within the team.
Van’s Tire Pros owner, Joshua Baughman
Joshua Baughman was a wholesale tire salesman during the 2000s. He built a career in the industry working with auto shop owners all over Ohio. When the owner of Van’s Tire Pros in Wadsworth was looking to retire, he called Joshua to see if he might be interested in purchasing the shop. Joshua seized the opportunity and found success with the Wadsworth location. It wasn’t long before other owners looking to retire reconnected with Joshua, allowing the Van’s Tire Pros brand to expand into markets throughout Northern Ohio, most recently in Wooster.
Unlike many organizations that grow quickly, the attention to customer service and professionalism has remained the top priority at Van’s. Before coming to work for Van’s Tire Pros, Rebecca True was impressed with her experience as a customer. “I had an issue with my car and needed service asap. I was referred to Van’s Tire Pros, and from the very first interaction on the phone, I was completely at ease. I was treated as a person, not a transaction. My experience sparked excitement for the company which ultimately led me to join the team. It’s not about the fastest or the cheapest, it’s about the best work for our customers. Every customer should have as great of an experience as I did.”
When Lisa learned how Josh and the team at Van’s Tire Pros care about their customers, she became excited about what the future would look like. The core values of Van’s Tire Pros perfectly aligned with the culture she helped build at 300 Tire. This new change in ownership didn’t mean having to sacrifice service or customer experience
Some mechanics and technicians have been with the team for over a decade.
“Becoming a Van’s Tire Pros shop is a win-win. We keep our values while expanding our resources to better serve our customers. Our prices are still competitive and we’re able to offer so much more in terms of warranties, rebates, and additional savings. It has been such a relief to provide faster and better service. Before we were booked out for weeks, but now we have the resources to fit customers in much sooner!”
The transition from 300 Tire to Van’s Tire Pros has brought positive changes, but the focus on individualized customer service remains the same. Candace L shares her experience, “They have taken exceptional care of me on three different vehicles over the past five years with tires and countless other maintenance projects and repairs. I know that between Lisa and the mechanics, I am receiving thorough services at a fair price!” Stop in to see Lisa and the team at 210 S Buckeye Street in Wooster or call 330-262-6800 for an appointment!
Lisa & Ryan’s top priority is providing exceptional service to every customer.
